ABOUT ABOUT

What if the people you volunteer to help were eager to partner with you from the first time you met them? No misgivings about motivation. No unspoken agendas. No proving yourself over and over and over again. Just ready to start exploring new options for their lives. Imagine how far you could go together?

Methods like Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed Care are techniques for doing. Community Building is a way of being that can make these and other good methods great. It begins with a highly experiential group process which is designed to create an atmosphere of unusual safety for participants to work "below the surface" and experience deep emotional connections with each other.

In a Community Building Workshop, participants gain the ability to listen more intensely, to express emotions more openly, and to be more fully present to self and others in their daily affairs. The shared experience improves group properties which, research has shown, leads to more effectual learning and working environments with higher levels of individual participation and better outcomes.

Community Building Workshops are being offered to volunteers and professionals of Chattanooga area government and social service agencies and faith based and community organizations as part of Community Building Chattanooga - an initiative to incorporate Community Building into programs that focus on issues related to peace and justice, economic development and community engagement.

If you are interested, please attend a free Community Building Workshop sponsored by Chattanooga Endeavors.
